IMPORTANT NEWS FOR Killian PARENT & COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS-
LISD has implemented a new system, VOLY, for managing volunteers. Please visit their website HERE to set up your account and begin the background check process. Background checks can take a few weeks to complete so if you plan to volunteer we recommend you go through this process ASAP.
HOW CAN YOU SERVE THE STUDENTS TO KILLIAN? BE A MENTOR!
Empower KMS students to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential. The mentoring program uses adult volunteers to commit to supporting, guiding, and being a friend to a young person for a period of at least one year.
Student mentees and mentors will be partnered together based on common interests & hobbies, backgrounds, cultural similarities, and student need. The expectation of meeting at least once a month would be appropriate. Sports games, tutoring, music practice, or other school activities would be an awesome time to cheer them on and show support. Most of our mentors meet students during our lunch times.
If you are interested, please sign up through our new volunteer platform, VOLY. Click HERE to get started on the background check process.
Please share this volunteer opportunity to your place of work, worship, friends, retired community members, and family. We welcome our community to help KMS students!
